Project 1- Wanted to take the "rock cycle" to the next level
1. Used Learning Styles inventory with students
2. Grouped kids together based on learning styles
3. Used Rubric (Rubistar) for grading
4. Focus on PROCESS not memorizing
Ideas to meet needs:
1. Blogging for independent, Verbal learners did a podcasts, Logical use a Inspiration document, GarageBand/podcasting for auditory learners.
iWeb for visual learners. KEY: Allow a variety of tools to be used within a project- as long as kids meet the CONTENT. The vehicle is the student's choice.
Positives: Kids were able to work in their comfort zone to produce quality projects.
2. Used a survey to determine interest in a project-- and assign kids based on interest in the subject.
